Italy???
I happen to read two books which the story narrate around the Italy grounds.
Of course, when the stories are conjured around Italy, naturally along comes romance and food!
The first book was by Anthony Capella, The Food of Love.
As spell out from the title, this book is about food and love. It is definitely a good light reading. The books gives you craving for Italian food. It gives a good description on the scent, spices and the taste that I almost can savor it in the room. Every single detail is perfectly describe especially on the food FOR love. I took the liberty to copied a para or two from the book :
When the chef, Bruno explaning to his friend, Tommaso, on food for loves or lust….
“ Because to make someone horny and to make someone fall in love are two very different things… To make someone horny, certainly is harder but not impossible. Seafood, of course has aphrodisiac qualities. Molluscsm too, snails in oil and garlic. Perhaps some carciofioni - baby artichokes cooked with mint, pulled apart with the fingers and dipped in soft, melted butter. Wine, obviously. And then, to finish , a burst of sugar something light but artificial, so that you feel full of energy and happiness…
If you wanted someone to fall in love with you, you would cook them something very different, something perfectly simple but intense. Something that shows you understand their very soul.. You’d have to really know the person concerned: their history; their background; whether they are raw or defined, dry or oily…”.
Am now currently reading the second book by Penelope Green, When in Rome.
A story by an Australian who gave up her job and went Italy to find herself, where she speak no Italian, no friends and nowhere to live with a fair dash of bravery. Just gotten to page 41…

Holiday Break
I picked the book off my shelf and started reading.
I finished it a couple of days ago.
I must say this book is all in all entertaining but highly overrated and it definitely did not stop me grabbing the second book. *WiNk*

Daddy Bday
I make it a point to stay in Ipoh especially I was not with him last year.
Nope.. I din get him any gift..so it's just a card and my presence.
The card have loads of meaning though.. HEhEhe... saying that I have the best dad in the world and my luck having him as my dad.. is the best gift ever bestowed upon me.
He was busy with work the whole day ( he din even have time to have breakie with me... *SObZ*).
Anyway when he and mummy was back home, we sat and have a good talk and then head out for dinner (Kor and Hooi Ling is in Beijing), so just the three of us. We did have a wonderful dinner. We talked and laugh and talk and laugh.
We din even manage to finish the bottle of wine. Ish.. 3 of us!! ME!!! could not even finish the bottle of wine. Weird eh?
Oh well, the dinner is good.. but would be better if my kor, his wife and Shao Yi to join in. It would be marvellous then. A whole family... but hey.. there is always some other time.
Hugs
Ps. My dad is the BEST dad in the whole wide world.. but then again.. it's very subjective.. He IS but only to me.. and no others.. oh well.... my kor too * SmILZ*

PASS
I PASS!!!!!!!
The result I have been waiting for!!
Seriously, it is such a relieve.. the feeling is better then getting an 'A' than any other subject.
HahA...
Waiting
Never had it cross my mind that I will manage to get a 'D'.
Oh well... the worse is that I have another paper marked by the same lecturer and the result is not out yet.
I waited and waited during the weekend. Hoping the marks will be out asap. I don't like the waiting part.
I just wanna know what I got.. a pass or a 'D' or 'F'.
I have been login in and out of the intranet countless times. And there is still no result. I hate the waiting.. It's long and pressured.
Arrgghhh....

Night by Elie Wiesel
I randomly picked up a book to read before I head to bed.
.
It turns out I stayed wide awake after I finish the book
It’s a rather thin book in but rich in content.
It really bothered me and put me deep in thoughts after the read.
I was really disturb by the read but yet the total truth.
It manage to portray the horror of the holocaust itself. A total powerful book that one will engross in. The fear and the line between life and death is profusely overwhelming.

Aidan
I seriously do not understand why Carrie do not want Aidan.
He is just the perfect guy. He is practically what everyone called as a good catch.
He is helpful, fun, down to earth.... Carrie's friend love him... so much more... the list goes on and on. He is definitely JUST the EXACT kind of guy for me.
I was watching until the episode he proposed to Carrie and I stop.
I could not brave myself up to face the truth that they eventually broke up.
I could not.
I am still in the imaginary world. I always like happy ending. If the truth is out there in the next few episodes that both of them will eventually break up.. I would refuse to continue the series and let me be in my fantasy world that they WILL end up together.
Guess the truth is that one would not face the truth and in the end, blur themselve up. Build a cocoon around them so they will not face another reality of life or even get hurt again.
The point is... why bother to continue when you can have a perfect ending of your own... the one that you project it to be.

Booze Substitute
Try having 6 consecutive days of less then 5 hours of sleep a day and constantly having your eyes to stay focus on reading and oh yes, frequent hands movement aka writing.
Believe me... it's a good substitute.
As on the early morning on the 7th day period, you will find out that you really need to use both hands to drive the car on a straight road, your eyes feels swollen with an eye bag that could practically stuffed with cotton.
Then suddenly you realize that your response towards your stimulus is slow... or rather , it does not tally to the beat.
You lost interest in everything and all you can think of a good night sleep.
Worst part is when finally you can have a short deep breath and get yourself the sleep, your eye lid refuse to close and your mind refuse to log off.
There... isn't it a substitute.
Damn... I need the SLEEP!
PS. 6 out and 1 more to go.

Compound = saman
Lucky or not..
I had my first exam of the semester today... and I refuse to comment anything about it. I am just glad it's done finally.
Oh well, I am short of cash this few weeks. I din need any money as I am always in da house and my ocassional indulge on coffee is on credit card due to the discount upon using the card. I din go to get any cash out either at all since I practically STOP going out.
I head on to eat my breakie after the test with my classmates. I checked and found out I have like 3 dollar notes left in my purse.. I search for some loose coins in the car and just enough for a RM3.50 mee and a RM1.20 drink.
As I was driving home, my mind started to drift away. I am really short on sleep and in desperate of coffee. I took the usual route back home.. while I was turning into Ikano for coffee the traffic was rather slow. I realized that it was a road block. It just slip out of my mind that I need to put on the seatbelt before turning into the road.
This is not the first time... the first time happen during the mid year. I just finish gym and head back home. They let me go with just a warning.
Wat similarity about the two times is that BOTH the time I din have any CASH with me at all.
The police ask for my license as usual. He took it and said my name out loud. He asked if I wanted a compound. My immediate reaction is " Apa tu?" *hEHhe*
Seriously, how am I suppose to know compound is saman.
I straight away start to look for loose cash. Hoping there is some around inside the car. I told him that I do not have any cash at all and only got a couple of dollar... RM4 to be exact, all in one dollar notes.
He took it.
I think me, being a student and always short of cash pays off.

Shirley
I saw my dearest friend, Shirley online in msn yesterday night.
I realized I really miss her…A LOT.
I have not seen her more than.. well, a year or two! I have spent my three spectacular years in Singapore and most of those amazing memories involved her.
She will be back Malaysia this December with Erik too!!! I just can’t wait to spend time with her. We can just talk and talk and talk. There is so much that had happened in between.
Although I have not seen her for quite some time, I just know that once we sit down, all awkwardness and all the uneasiness will be gone. I guess everyone know this feeling. We have so much history together… we know and understand each other so well… it’s like you can just simply blurt out a sentence… she can instantly relate and knows!! It does not even matter how long the gap in between the meet up, it will just go away and we will be just concentrating on catching up.
Shirley is obviously one of the smartest gal I know. Oh… Of coz, she obviously have the looks! She is tough too. I am definitely happy and proud of her coming to be what she is now. We both quit roughly the same time, she then went to Sweden… and oh well, I came back to Malaysia, each pursuing different pathways of our life.
Oh gosh… I just really miss her so much. I always needed her by my side! I realized that I am one of the lucky ones that DO have such a friend that really will be my lifetime friends, no matter how far apart we are. There is nothing that stop our friendship. Just that simple.

Hot/cold
I really should start to change a few habits of mine. My flu, well, is my bi-monthly friend who comes to visits. I do quite often have their frequent visits.
Frankly,I am quite fed up with them. The sore throat irritation, the phelgm, the sneeze, the fluids, the ache over my back and shoulder, Of coz, not leaving out my constant coughing.
I decided to stop drinking ice cold drinks ( which happen to be my favorite ). I think I should rephrase... I decided to drink LESS ice cold drink ( I can't give up coke, can I?... No.. it would be terrible just to imagine not being able indulge oneself with a icy, fizzy, sugary drink a.k.a COKE ).
I did manage to find other alternatives. I constantly find myself with camomile tea, hot honey lemon and *sMilZ* coffee.
All hot Hot HOt.. and addictive.
Not to mention, it really helps my throat! Less cough too!
Come to think of it... life's like that too.
If something is not compatible with your needs ... there is always alternatives.
You might want it just because you know it's bad or just simply because you know it's not meant for you.
but once it strikes up your mind... there is actually lots of other alternatives that might even suit you much much better. Finally somthing you need and want.

Supposingly REVISION
I attended a supposedly revision class today.
The lecturer of that particular subject is horrifying to begin with.
I will be re-sitting this particular subject this semester and hope that this revision class will give me a rough idea and the formats so I would not be caught ‘BlUr’ during the exam which will be taking place real soon.
I arrived right on time (especially in her class.. ), as usual she is a couple of minutes late. And as usual, those who came late then her will definitely get a good talk from her. So there I was with my junior attending her class, sitting alone at one corner and observed.
I was with her in another subject, both lecture and tutorial. I find quite similarities in her teaching behavior.
She will first start of with the class being like a fish market. And this is this and that is that… wat.. who.. when… why… how. She, of coz, with her tone and all, she managed to keep the class down. She, then will kick off with how bad the class and how shockingly difficult for her to get the students to listen and not talk.
After that in the mid, she will talk about how her ex-students being appreciative of how she act as the outside world is much much more worse. Blah BlahhHh…
Serious, this is exactly what she talk. No difference with the class I attended.Umm.. I guess my mind always drift away when I am in her class. She’s good at it, mind you.
After all those talks and such, I calculated, she took one and half hour about talking how the midterm goes with the students and half hour talking about why there is exams!!
GOSH! I was so pissed.. I actually came to attend another ‘talk’ from her. Oh.. wait! I actually chot down what she says.
The reason of why there is exams is to be able to APPLY and UNDERSTAND.
The reason to test the students is to know the :
• Ability to remember
• Ability to write
• Ability to exercise and comment
What I wanted to know and the reason I attended this class was only answered after all this crap and it JUST took like 5 minutes of the whole lecture.
I survived the 2 hour lecture in one piece but my brain is all drained out!!
White Daisy Passing

White Daisy Passing by Rocky Votolato
please slow it down
there's a secret magic past world that you only notice when you're looking back at it
all I wanna do is turn around
I'm going down to sleep on the bottom of the ocean
because I couldn't let go when the water hit the setting sun
passing white daisies taking turns / close the door walk into the street
catching raindrops on your tongue
and for a minute it all stops but it won't last man
it's just a passing moment gone
please slow it down
there's a secret place that I know where I could dig a grave out
and climb underground for good
all I want to do is turn around
I'm going down to sleep on the bottom of the ocean
because I couldn't let go when the water hit the setting sun
passing white daisies taking turns
all those evenings on the back deck of our first apartment
they meant everything but the wind just carried em off
and you can't go back now just a passing moment gone

Decisions
Future is indeed unknown but everything we did in the past will affect our future. Choosing the right path to continue our life is a convoluted decision yet necessary.
A single choice you made today might change your whole life, your destiny.
Should we be waiting for ‘the sign’ to make the choice or should we sit and have an intensive self discussion.
Well, I think I’ll opt for the ‘sign’.
Base on my life, it’s always been the ‘sign’ or rather whenever it comes, it will. As said in the Chinese proverb ( ).
Now the problem is, what would the sign be?
IsH Ish..
A single note from no where? A single banner on the street stating “post grad” or a flyer that fly towards my face announcing job availability?
Hmm… whatever it is.. I think I should be concentrating on my exams first. HECK! I have like 7 papers this semester… Extra 3 compared to my other classmates. HECK! How will I be able to make it… my timetable is out.. I have no break whatsoever! 6 consecutive paper in one shot. This is so KILLING me… worse.. I have not even started studying.

It's rather crazy.... I really am having this craze over his songs.
It keep on running thru my head... the tune, the voice, the guitar, the beat...
Worse... It really make me want to learn to play guitar.
Anyway this is one of the song... keep playing again and again in my head...

Five of us in a car joining the Petra Church member to Duolos. It is said to be the oldest sailing ship. This is the second time in Malaysia stopping at Port Klang. It might be the last time for her to sail around the world too.
Anyway the highlight of the day is eating Bak Kut Teh in Klang. *SmILz*
It was definitely a hectic but wonderful Saturday.
My day did not just stop till lunch eh? I went for booze and wine with Bin, Steph and Goon till late.

Ps. Din manage to take any pic of our lunch ... GulP.. too enthused to have Bak Kut Teh.
